About me
I'm Dan, a teacher of Qigong and chinese astrology from Romnia with a passion for music, coding and learning new skills.
My music journey
Although I started learning music seriously after 30, I've gathered a lot of music theory knowledge (both Western and Middle Eastern) and I learned a lot about making complete music tracks on my own (something usually done by a team of musicians and professionals working together) - including mixing tracks. My goal was to make music like Byron Metcalf, a well known percussionist whose albums feature the Frame Drum proeminently.
My Frame Drum teachers
After studying the flute and then learning music production in Ableton Live on my own, I was interested in learning to make music with Frame Drums and flutes, so I joined Marla Leigh's Frame Drum Academy. After that, I also took a few lessons with 2 other percussionists, Simone Horus from Italy and Antoine Morrineau. Then I studied with Yshai Afterman in the group Frame Drum program and took my percussion skills to a whole new leve, even though I shifted my attention to other things in the following period.
What I have to offer
Even though I'm not a professional percussionist, I believe my main contribution (to both a beginner and someone who has studied percussion for years) is the blend of music skills and music creation knowledge that not all musicians posess:
I made a rhythms appI make tools like practice tracks, backing tracks etc.
I am prompt to answer questions and to guide students one on one.
